A pet can be a good friend but it’s important to be safe around them. Here are some very simple ideas for keeping safe around our furry friends.
1. Have students create a poster showing the five most important safety measures when interacting with pets.
2. Create a class pet safety rules handbook, with each student contributing a page.
3. Invite a local pet expert or vet to come into the classroom and lead a discussion on pet safety.
4. Have students watch a video about pet safety and then discuss what they learned.
5. Have students take part in a role-playing activity in which they practice how to safely interact with a pet.
