Happy #EuropeDay! 🎉 Today marks the 50th anniversary of Ireland’s membership of the European Union, so what better time to take your pupils on a journey of discovery, exploring the different cultures of Europe?
Here are 5 teaching ideas to help you bring Europe Day to life in your classroom:
1. Create a European Quiz – create a fun and interactive quiz for your pupils to test their knowledge of Europe’s different countries, cultures and facts.
2. Invite a Special Guest – invite a local MEP or diplomat to come and speak to your pupils about their experience of working within the EU.
3. Create a European Flag – challenge your pupils to create a flag representing the diversity of Europe using different materials.
4. Make a European Map – have your pupils draw and colour a map of Europe, highlighting the countries and their cities and towns.
5. Take a Virtual Tour – take your pupils on a virtual tour of Europe, exploring the countries and their cultures.
