To this day, one of the greatest legal and social challenges faced by the world is the persistently high rates of violence against children. This includes sexual abuse occurring in the home, streets and even in schools.

The global community needs to step up and implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child at domestic level. This will help in addressing children’s rights abuses. The United Nations Convention has condemned a number of jurisdictions for the failure to promote, respect and fulfil the rights of children according to the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”.

Children Rights

The rights of children are a subset of human rights. The UN Convention declares the rights of all children on a global basis. It states that they should have proper access to international treaties around the clock.

Setting an example, Many Irish schools include human rights teaching in their classes. The lessons are aimed to teach primary-age students. Both primary and secondary students feel free to learn about human rights through Health Education and Citizenship Education.
