As a primary school teacher, you know the joy of seeing children learn and grow in a new and exciting environment. And so, in celebration of this new school building, we’ve put together some teaching ideas/activities to help you bring learning to life.

1. Make a timeline of the history of the building. Ask pupils to research and discover when the building was constructed, who designed it, and who has used it.

2. Conduct an architectural study. Have pupils explore the building and draw what they find. This is an excellent way to get them thinking about design elements and how they work together.

3. Get creative with mapping. Have pupils draw a map of the building, with labels for different features.

4. Go on a scavenger hunt. Create a list of items to find and encourage pupils to explore the building to find them.
